Went to The Camellia Grill based on a recommendation from a friend. It was located in the Garden District in New Orleans. First impression was that it has a cool diner vibe with seats at the counter. We had to wait a bit for a spot to open up because they were so busy. As a party of 3 we were sat with our backs to each other cause of the design of the counter and the seats that opened up. The server takes our order on a card and then you can watch your order being prepared right in front of you which is very entertaining. I ordered the Hickmen's burger and cut the grilled onions. It has Swiss cheese and mushrooms and I added the toppings. Lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. Burgers come with one side and I got the fries and added chili and cheese. This is where I went wrong and should have just had the fries plain. I was not a fan of the cheese sauce and would have preferred shredded cheese instead. There was a $3 up charge for this but the prices are super reasonable. The server also gave me a sample of the handmade chocolate shake but for dessert chose to indulge in the pecan pie that was drenched in butter and Carmel sauce and warmed on the grill top. Overall enjoyed my experience here food is good and reasonably priced and feels like you are going back in time to a 60s diner experience.

Vincent was my friendly server at this cozy diner - he kinda runs the place. I had the veggie omelette with egg whites. I added a generous serving of freshly grilled and comforting bacon. Everything here met my needs for a down home meal.

This is a step back in time for me. Pick a stool at the service counter and try to choose from so many tasty options. In my party we had the pecan waffles, bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, greek omelette with grits, cheese burger with cheese fries, sweet tea. If I come back I'd get a chocolate freeze or a po'boy.

Fun, traditional grill in the garden district. Servers have plenty of personality! The food is great. Grab the St Charles cable car. It drops you off right in front of the grill!

Come for the food and the show. We arrived here, near faint, from a foodless cookout we attended in nearby Audubon Park. I was introduced to this as a family favorite and omelettes were recommended but I went for the Turkey Burger with coleslaw instead. My company enjoyed a delicious looking large omelette with spinach and shrimp and a side of fries. My turkey burger was quite moist... in a good way. Is it possible that is because it was cooked in the juices of whatever was on the grill before it? Perhaps. Unfortunately, the coleslaw was too juicy... in the bad way, for my preference. What I did enjoy was the perfect amount of snarkiness that the waiter/cook had as we ordered. There was also playful banter between employees. Just enough to connect to humanity but not so much that I began to wonder "don't you have a job to do" I would definitely visit again especially if I needed saving from a cookout gone afoul. But I definitely feel the food they excel at you can find in every ward and neighborhood for the same quality. So, it wouldn't be a place I make a special trip for.

Small locals dinner, good clean food. Not overly seasoned or filled with butter and sodium. I also love the option of Cajun seasoning. Service was great. Our waiter was personable and polite. Food also was prepared, right next to us. We watched our meals being cooked. We ordered, sausage omelette with shrimp and mushroom. Judy's omelette, and shrimp poboy w/ bacon and fries with brown gravy. Also ordered cheese grits as a side to the omelettes. Staff were friendly too. Zero exaggeration, everything was absolutely delicious, came out fast and fresh.
